MJCN students visit
Thirty-eight (38) graduating students of the Mary Johnston College of Nursing in Tondo, Manila, led by their mentor Precy Jiongco-Torres, visited and toured Glenn’Studio on January 15, 2010 as part of their Arts & Music Appreciation class. Precy is a former deaconesss of Faith United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas and a protégé of the artist’s sister, Eunice.
Precy and her students were highly impressed by Glenn’s artworks that were on display at the main gallery. As they explored the place further, they could hardly contain their excitement for each turn became a surprising discovery, especially when they reached the rooftops. These senior students turned into kids as they romped around, picking mangoes, enjoying the fresh air from atop the kubos, welcoming the respite from congested Tondo and the pressures of graduation.
Before they left, the class offered a song and a prayer to the hosts, in appreciation of what they all felt was a truly memorable experience.
